Learn how to get the most out of SearchApps

Getting Started

Your First Search

SearchApps understands natural language. Instead of typing keywords, describe what you need:

  • Good: "I need an app to track my water intake"
  • Good: "apps for meal planning with grocery lists"
  • Good: "a better notes app that syncs with my Mac"
  • Less ideal: "water app" (too vague)

The more context you provide, the better results you'll get.

Understanding Search Results

Each app card shows:

  • Rating & Reviews: The App Store rating and number of reviews
  • Price: Free or the app's price
  • Insight: Why this app matches your search
  • Reddit Demand: How many users have requested this type of app

Features

Search

Use natural language to describe the app you're looking for. You can also search for alternatives to apps you already know:

  • "apps like Notion but simpler"
  • "Instagram alternatives with better privacy"
  • "Evernote but with better sync"

SearchApps will find apps that match your description and show you why each one might be a good fit.

Category Browsing

Browse apps by category to explore what's available. Each category shows:

  • Number of apps in the category
  • Average rating
  • Competition level (Low, Medium, High)

Tap any category to see the top apps within it.

Trending Apps

Discover apps that are gaining popularity. The Trending tab shows apps that are rising in downloads and ratings over the past week, helping you find quality apps before everyone else.

Each trending app shows:

  • Current rank in the trending list
  • Growth percentage
  • Rating and price

App Details

Tap any app to see detailed information:

  • Screenshots: Preview the app's interface
  • Description: Full app description from the App Store
  • What's New: Latest update notes
  • App Intelligence: AI-generated insights including why the app might be good for you and common user complaints
  • Information: Size, compatibility, languages, and more

Tips for Better Results

Be Specific

"I need an app to track my running with GPS and training plans" will give better results than "running app".

Mention What You Don't Want

"A todo app without subscriptions" helps us filter out apps with recurring costs.

Include Your Use Case

"A notes app for students with handwriting support" gives context that improves results.

Try Different Phrasings

If you don't find what you want, try rephrasing. "Budget tracker" and "expense manager" might give different results.

App Navigation

Tab Bar

The app has four main sections accessible from the tab bar:

  • Search: Find apps using natural language
  • Browse: Explore apps by category
  • Trending: Discover rising apps
  • Settings: App information and support links

Downloading Apps

When you find an app you like, tap the "GET" or price button to open the App Store where you can download or purchase the app directly.
